If the cancer is confined to the ducts, it is called ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) and if it is confined to the lobules, it is called lobular carcinoma in situ (LCIS). At this stage, the cancer cannot be felt as a lump in the breast, but DCIS can sometimes be detected by mammography."
