Cambridge Wireless member, Hidalgo, revolutionises health monitoring with the launch of Equivital mobile EQ02 LifeMonitor

One of Cambridge Wireless' longest standing founder members, Hidalgo, has launched its next generation range of mobile products that monitor human health. The new Equivital EQ02 LifeMonitor incorporates a miniaturised body-worn sensor designed on a ‘wear and forget’ principle that senses, records, processes and transmits data from the human body. Hidalgo has also launched its new eqView software for PC, web and mobile so the data can be viewed, analysed and acted upon in real time, and development kits to cater for their growing partner developer community.

IVF proven unnecessary for many infertile couples - DuoFertility study shows

September 23rd 2011 - A new study published in European Obstetrics & Gynaecology shows that just six months using the DuoFertility monitor and service gives the same chance of pregnancy as a cycle of in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) for many infertile couples. This study demonstrates that there is a viable non-invasive, drug-free alternative to IVF for thousands of couples, with the potential to save them (and the NHS) millions of pounds each year.

Berson UV used to treat hospital wastewater prior to discharge

Berson’s medium pressure UV systems are being used in a trial in the Netherlands to treat hospital wastewater prior to discharge. In the trial, UV is applied in combination with hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) to generate OH- radicals in a so-called “Advanced Oxidation Process” (AOP). The very reactive OH- radicals attack the pharmaceutical residues in the wastewater, breaking them down into H2O, CO2 and harmless metabolites.
