Imperial College London’s Institute of Biomedical Engineering Wins Top Prize For Innovation at Times Higher Education Awards 200

London, United Kingdom, October 19 2009 – The Institute of Biomedical Engineering, Imperial College London, today announces that it has been honoured with a top prize for innovation at the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) Awards 2009. The Institute was named overall winner in the category of “Outstanding Contribution to Innovation and Technology.” The awards were announced at a gala ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on Thursday 15th October.

MICCAI 2009, the 12th International Conference on Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Intervention, is set to welcome delegates in London from 20th – 24th September 2009. Now in its 12th year, the MICCAI conference attracts world-leading scientists, engineers and clinicians from a wide range of disciplines associated with medical imaging and computer assisted surgery. The venue for MICCAI 2009 will be the main campus of Imperial College London in South Kensington.
