DNA Electronics announces grants of key international patents

London, United Kingdom, November 10 2010 – DNA Electronics Ltd, a fabless provider of semiconductor solutions for real-time DNA and RNA detection, announced today the company has been awarded three key patents for semiconductor-based nucleotide detection. These latest patent allowances in the United States, China and Europe build upon DNA Electronics’ strong semiconductor IP portfolio, relevant parts of which have been licensed non-exclusively to Roche and Life Technologies in recent months.

DNA Electronics Partners with Roche to Develop Semiconductor Based Sequencing System

DNA Electronics, a fabless semiconductor provider of solutions for real-time DNA and RNA analysis, announced today that it has entered a partnership with 454 Life Sciences, a Roche Company. The collaboration will focus on the development of a low-cost, high-throughput, long read, high density DNA sequencing system. As part of the agreement, DNA Electronics has signed a non-exclusive licence to provide relevant IP from its proprietary semiconductor technology portfolio to Roche.

DNA Electronics Wins R&D Prize At Elektra09 European Electronics Industry Awards

DNA Electronics Ltd, a developer of disposable, real-time gene testing at the point-of-care, has been named as the winner of the prestigious R&D prize at the Elektra09 European Electronics Industry Awards. DNA Electronics, a spin-out of Imperial College London, triumphed from a shortlist of five other finalists to be named winner by an independent panel of judges in recognition of its innovative technology and intellectual property strategy. The Elektra09 award ceremony was held on Tuesday 1st December 2009 at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London.
