26 year old dies of Swine flu in Scotland

A 26-year-old man has become the fifth person in Scotland to die after contracting Swine Flu.

The patient, who died in Glasgow's Victoria Infirmary, had significant underlying health problems, a Scottish government spokesman said.

VACCINATING everyone in Scotland against swine flu could take almost a year and a half, it emerged today.

Kevin Woods, the chief executive of NHS Scotland, has written to health boards across the country advising it could be November 2010 before there is enough vaccine to cover the entire population.

Second Swine flu fatality in United Kingdom

The 73-year-old scottish pensioner from Inverclyde who was being treated in Paisley's Royal Alexandra Hospital is another casuality of swine flu.

Prior to this Jacqueline Fleming, 38, died of swine flu at the same intensive care unit a fortnight ago - the day before her premature son Jack died.
