The new flu strain can be treated by antivirals such as GlaxoSmithKline's Relenza, which may provide with up to 350 million pounds ($573 million) in sales, according to some estimates. The company is also expected to benefit from its vaccine treatment against the H1N1 virus by posting up to 1.3 billion pounds ($2.1 billion) in sales in 2010. But industry experts warn it won't be able to extrapolate these numbers for many years as a swine flu pandemic is likely to result in one-off gains.
